Snow day monday
we're being hit with a NorEast'r today. the weather network got it right this time. they are calling for 30-40cm by the time it is done with. i did blow out the driveway around noon, but will no doubt do it again in the morning, after things stop. i love using the snowblower. maybe i can make a living doing that....the WFH gig is not going well this week. first of all, they were closed from 24-tomorrow, and my hours for this week all got denied. i kinda thought that as long as i was a top performer, i would get hours. well i guess being in the top three on every project for the past couple of months doesn't matter. i will be anxious to see who is working. i was told that seniority did not matter, well what does? very frustrated with that right now.
christmas--was fantastic. we were all together and we all had a great evening. the feast was fabulous, and all is right in my inner circle world.
i will take a picture of the snow tomorrow, after the driveway is done. i am a little OCD about how the driveway looks after a storm, like it to be as near to perfect as i can get it.
just a short blurb to let you know i'm still around. have a wonderful evening....make it GREAT~ because we have it within each of us to do so. poet

Wordless Wednesday Flood Pics December 2010
december is not usually the time to concern ourselves with flooding, but this year Mother Nature had other plans. Thanks to the following people who shared their photos on Facebook:
Anne-Marie Thomas, Jeff Young, Brandi Estey, Ward MacDonald
the road gave way under the truck. the driver was not hurt. it is bad around NB folks. Places where it has never flooded before are being torn apart by the water. we had a very heavy rainstorm, dumping upwards to 130mm rain in under 24 hrs over most of NB. just terrible. ~
weekly wrap up
gonna try and get a theme going with this blog. i mean i have Wordless Wednesdays and the Saturday SnapShot, so why not weekly wrap up for sundays?
let's see; the antibiotics are working well, and i have now been able to put the aerosol machine away (til next time).am still using my AdVair twice a day (double dose each time- as that is how it is directed for when i get exposed, or sick with a cold). i am finally sleeping a little better too, so that makes things better as well. i am still put out about not being able to go to conference, but i will get used to the idea eventually.
k's job is going well. she works very hard for over 8 hrs every day. she is getting faster too, so the faster she gets, the more reports she can complete and more money she can make. i'm so proud of you, bestus, for doing such a good job!! my job is the same as it has been. sometimes good projects, mostly crappy ones. i really did enjoy the union ones and the business calling projects, much more professional people to deal with. they realize i am not selling anything and are generally happy to answer my questions. the ones i got put on later in the week, however, much more difficult and a lot lower flow rate for me. i was very frustrated with the whole thing really, and if that was the only type of project they ever got, i would have quit friday.
i know i should just be thankful that i am able to work from home. i am really, just sort of wish i would have better projects to work on. i mean, i am in the top 10 now (and only been working with them since october, so that is pretty good i think). i still wish they had a monetary incentive for good stats. but my team supe said the incentive for good work is more work and more or better hours. so i guess i will just suck it up.
christmas is coming along. k has been doing all the shopping. i will take R shopping for k next w/end, and i will head out early a morning this week and do her shopping too. i have to go when there is less chance of lots of people. less chance to get exposed to scent that way. the tree gets put up on the sunday before christmas (tradition), and we don't put up a lot of decorations (cats + decorations= disaster usually).
since we began counting those calories and Kane has been taking me for longer walks, i weighed in this morning at 196. :) that is half pound down from last week. ;) yaay. now to just drag my sorry butt to curves, i am sure that would help.
we are being taken out for supper tonight. the inner circle takes turns with sunday supper, and it is r's turn and she is going to take us all out to franks' finer diner. hopefully it will be yummy. checked their menu online seems to be all the usual fare. i have not decided what i want yet, we'll see when we get there.
off to go fold laundry now. exciting i know. we got a good deal of house work done today, and things actually look pretty good here.
take care and have a wonderful sunday, make it GREAT~ poet.
Friday, finally.....
and what did i accomplish so far? hmmm, not too much. went to bed last night at 11:45 and i think i fell to sleep immediately. up at the crack of almost noon (11am). i have not slept that long in a long time. am a little stiff from laying that long, but it got worked out a bit when Kane and I went for our walk around noon thirty.
no puttering today, so the house is untidy, but meh, there is always tomorrow to get some stuff done. i did, however pull a nice coup. we got mail from Aliant about a great promo for new customers, lightning fast internet, home phone and tv pkg for only $99 (plus taxes for 3 months) but then only $127 +t for the rest of the first yr. AND if ordered by dec.18th a new 22" LCD HDTV! so i thought to myself, " self, lets have a gander at our Rogers bill shall we?" and then after some cyphering called Rogers to see what they can DO about our monthly service charges. WOOT, i love it when a plan comes together, 30% off our services for the next 12 months and then 20% off for the 12 months after that. :) we are currently receiving 15% because of the bundle discount. anyway, i am most pleased that Rogers do take care of their long time customers. we have but to threaten to leave ask, merry christmas to us. the new rates will be noticed on our next bill cycle. :) happiness for savings.
on the sick front, still coughing and feeling sore, but these things take time to heal. i have a little more lung capacity today, and only had to stop a few times on our walk (with kane) to get my breath. walking uphill is difficult sometimes, (not that there are big hills), but anyway, let's just say i am on the mend. now if only i could just relax about the whole thing.
work is fine. i really enjoyed the 11a-7p shifts on the project i was working on. i like calling businesses because they are not rude. however, the one i am on now, from 4pm-9pm is a lot different. can you say F for F? oh yeah, and there is even an incentive to get people to DO the survey (i's do it for a $10 gift card). anyway, i have to reiterate that 'this is NOT a sales call', but those we are calling are very suspicious. lots of hang ups. not my problem if they hang up, but it does wear on ya after a few hours. anyway, 5 hr shifts of that type of call is plenty. the cheque will look pretty nice, so that is good, at least. and i have discovered that the incentive for me and my awesomeness is that i get to go on good projects because i am that good. :)
speaking of which, i have to get ready to head into work now, haha, meaning log off of all outside applications, and log into work. :) make today GREAT~ poet.
N'orEaster & sick & work & stuff.
yes that is what we are getting hit with now. wet. slush falling pounding down. it is gross out there. school it closed, and i say a prayer for those who have to venture out today.
i have to be one of those, have to go to the pharmacy to get my Rx filled. those little exposures on saturday sent me to the ER last night.i am still feeling gross. my chest is itchy, the cough is tight. my lungs hurt. i am thankful that i can do my job today from the comfort of my room. i had many thoughts about things yesterday, how i am being confined to my home due to perfumes and scents. it does not seem fair to me. i did nothing wrong. i did not bring this on myself.
i have decided to forgo the trip to PA next June, for the women's conference. i got slapped with reality yesterday, and had never even addressed this concern before that. how can i sit in a room full of women and not think that i would be safe? i will just have to think of another way to celebrate my 8th sober birthday, next year.
i am grateful to have a snow blower that is all tuned up, gassed up, and ready to take on winter. this kind of snow, though, is generally very wet and heavy, like slush, and that is hard to blow. we'll see how the day ends up.
i slept ok last night, for the time i was asleep, and i do not even recall dreaming. that is always a bonus for me. i awoke laying flat on my back, with two cats at my feet, holding down the blankets. and they were the two smallest ones, pepe and tink, amazing how two little bodies can hold the blankets down so well, and keep me tucked in all cozy and warm.
i work from 11-7 today, yay for another full shift. tomorrow will be the same, and possibly wednesday as well. that works for me. then shorter shifts later in the week, 5p-9p, working on a polling (political) project in my time zone. kinda looking forward to that. my team supervisor said that flow rate in the eastern provinces is actually higher than other areas of the country. i told her that was because we were polite, and realized that the people calling were only doing a job, making a living just like every body else, and to be kind, and not rude. hey canada, take notes!! she also told me that BC is the province that usually yields the lowest flow rates. in other words, more refusals. i got to thinking the other day, unless you are the Prime Minister, no one is so busy that they can't part with 10 minutes of their day. instead of looking at is as an infringement of your time, look at it as you are making a contribution to something worth while. in training i learned that market research is a tough business, and it is there to make things better for the greater good. and why not be part of that?
have as good a day as you all can. make today GREAT~ poet.
